Snježnica HIKING
Snjeznica hiking description
Snježnica Hiking
Sveti Ilija (1234m), Sniježnica’s highest peak, is the tallest in Dubrovnik-Neretva County, towering over Konavle and the Konavosko field. Start from Mihanići via a shaded, easy trail through macchia and woods—passing a 16th-century St. Nicholas church—to Kuna Konavoska (721m), reaching the summit in 2 moderate hours on an old Austro-Hungarian cannon path. At the 19th-century St. Ilija Chapel, enjoy epic views of Konavle, Dubrovnik Airport, islands like Mljet and Korčula, plus Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro mountains; join annual pilgrimages on Pentecost Monday or the December 26 climb.
